“ Bún đậu mắm tôm ok, đầy đủ. Nhưng phần mắm tôm hơi ngọt theo khẩu vị của mình. Cháo lòng xuất sắc. Phần huyết ăn rất ngon. Ngon nhất trong tất cả các quán mình ăn ở Houston ”
“ Came here with a friend when we were feeling a bit adventurous and wanted to try Vietnamese food that we haven't tried before. The restaurant itself was a lot bigger than I expected, and had an ample amount of seating! We ordered bun mam, pha lau, and bot chien, but I was eyeing all the other food on the menu too! Other than the bot chien, I had no idea what to expect for the dishes that we had ordered. The bun nam was very light and still flavorful from the fish and vegetables inside. The pha lau reminded me of the special tripe dish I sometimes order at dimsum restaurants, and the banh mi that came with it was sooo delicious/had the perfect crunch and fluff. Everything was solid, and I really want to come back to try other items on the menu! ”
“ Bun mam was pungent (in a good way) and full of flavor. I loved the addition of eggplant. The giant chili pepper took me for a surprise because I thought it'd be the spice level of a bell pepper but it was in fact the spice of a Thai chili pepper. Definitely add some chili paste or oil as well as lime to elevate the broth. The banh bot chien was nothing special, but I liked the fresh bite of papaya. As for the pha lau, I enjoyed it a lot actually! For someone who doesn't usually enjoy intestines, these were pretty easy to eat and the broth was very savory and delicious. ”
“ Amazing authentic viet food in Bellaire! Two biggest thing that attracted me to come here was the Bot Chien (fried taro cake) & Banh Khot (mini shrimp pancake) & both did not disappoint. They had an excellent crunch and tasted delicious. The portion size was great as well and perfect for sharing with a group of 4. Excellent two appetizers. The Vietnamese coffee was also strong and tasty! I wanted to try something i've never tried before and soupy-ish so I ordered the Banh Canh Cua. It was quite tasty, seafood/crab based dish and came with udon noodles, shrimp, pork, veggies, blood sausage. It hit the spot! The Com Tam Dac Biet was amazing as well. They most importantly used broken rice which makes a huge diff in this dish. Portion size was good and filling. They used pork And marinated well. The scallion grilled scallops was also a unique dish. Paired well with the peanuts, scallions and sauces you could top it off with. Good amount of seating and parking is within the My Hoa plaza. Payment will be taken at the cashier. The servers were also attentive as well. Deff get the Bot Chien & Banh Khot!!! ”
“ def one of the best viet spots in houston and a spot i keep coming back to! more expensive compared to other spots but the portions are large and i always have leftovers. there's a lot of different items on the menu so there's something for everyone. everything ive had so far has been really good but it is on the sweeter side. their bánh bột chiên and bánh khọt are both super crispy! the grilled meat that comes with the cơm tấm đặc biệt is also marinated really well and the nuoc mam/sauce it comes with has a unique flavor i think it has kumquat (?) tip: - if you need extra spice make sure to ask them for fresh chili peppers - if you pay with cash you get a 5% discount ig: @whatsviveating ”
“ The food tasted really authentic. Our favorites would have to be the Banh Khot Vung Tau and Banh Khot. They were crisp to perfection at the edges and full of flavor, the nuoc mam and veggies paired perfectly with it. Also ordered the Oc Canada (snails), the seasoning was delicious, but felt like they skimped on the quantity for the price we paid for. Didn't get a picture of the grilled squid or the grilled scallops that we also ordered. Grilled squid was yummy but was pretty spicy, the sauce that it came with has a kick to it as well but was so good. The grilled scallops was the worst dish we had ordered. Scallops tasted like it had freezer burn and no flavor even though it was doused in the garlic onion, almost tasted plasticky. Inside can get pretty hectic and loud but I guess it kind of gives off the local Vietnam vibes. Servers were meh, felt rushed to order and they were not very attentive when it comes to refilling waters, but honestly kind of expected for a Vietnamese joint. Overall, I would still come back here to try some other dishes and the Banh Khot Vung Tau again! ”
“ Let me just start with saying that this place does their Bún (noodle soup) dishes very well. From Bún bò huế (spicy beef noodle soup) to Bún riêu (crab&pork tomato noodle soup) , their noodle soup dishes are phenomenal and brings forward the culture of Vietnamese cuisine. Their portions are no joke, they include every detail like tofu and chả while maintaining a flavorful broth in each dish. For the more explorative peeps, the Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm (vermicelli with fermented shrimp paste) the sauce was tasty (sweet)! This is not a dish that you can commonly find so it was nice to see it being highlighted as their special dish. The Bánh khọt (mini savory pancakes) was a fun dish to eat if you wanted to change up the texture. It was a great crunchy mixture of sweet and savory with the coconut and nước mắm (fish sauce), this dish has to be eaten quickly as they get soggy after being left out. The place can get crowded on a weekend with a bigger party (ours was 10 people) but the service was quick and our food came out in an orderly manner. I would definitely recommend this place as it does a great job showcasing Việt food. ”
“ One of those hole in the wall kind of place. Walking in, you can pretty much expect that the Viet food will be good. They do have English on the menu and the staff speaks a bit of English. It was a bit crowded but we got seated after a few minutes of waiting. They have a variety of Viet dishes on the menu from soup noodles, appetizers, and seafood. Their banh bot chien is probably one of their most popular dish and it was extra crispy. Exactly what you would expect it to be and the sauce goes so well with it. The bun rieu oc is what I was looking forward to because it's one of those Viet dish that you don't see it often on the menu. I'm always looking for the best I can find and this one was at the top of the list. Flavorful broth and you can tell from looking at the color. We also had the pha lau which was my first time trying. Not everyone's cup of tea. It's like a curry broth with offal so beware if this isn't something you're used to. Also comes with bread to dip in the broth. Service was a bit slow, it was packed inside. Definitely worth checking out. ”
